At Gates Chili Middle School, students have countless opportunities to explore their passions, develop new skills and build lasting friendships through a wide variety of clubs, activities, performance groups and athletic programs. From academic competitions and service organizations to cultural groups, creative arts and competitive sports, there is truly something for everyone. Participation in extracurriculars—whether on the stage, in the classroom or on the field—helps students grow as individuals, connect with their school community and make the most of their high school experience.

Lates bus procedures

Gates Chili Middle School offers late buses to support students who stay after school for clubs, activities or extra academic help. Students may stay after school whenever they need to — no prior notice or sign-up is required.

    • Late buses run every day except Tuesday.
    • All late buses typically board and depart by 3:45 p.m.
    • Students generally arrive home about one hour later than their regular bus time.
    • Students must have a pass from the teacher, advisor or staff member they stayed with in order to board a late bus.
    • Every student is assigned a late bus, and they should ride their assigned bus unless directed otherwise.
    • Students should communicate with their families ahead of time to let them know they will be staying late.
    • After-school activities run until 3:30 p.m.
    • At 3:30 p.m., students transition to a supervised cafeteria space while waiting for buses.
    • Late buses are called over the PA system as they arrive.
